Lynne & Charlie - Oh Deery me - what a lovely day for a Wedding

Charlie Deery, contacted me earlier on in the year about photographing his wedding to the lovely Lynne.  I had photographed Sarah his lovely daughter a couple of year's earlier and I remembered Charlie fondly, as quite cheeky and fun, so I was really looking forward to the wedding indeed and also I could catch up with Charlie's family once again and meet Lynne's as well.  I had already met and photographed Lynne's grandson Lucas, who is a little character and tends to steel the show, as shown in some of these photographs. After bridal prep at Lynne's house, the wedding was being held at the lovely little church in Tong Village, which the interior had been used in filming "Jamaica Inn" which had been shown on TV earlier in the week (luckily they had removed the bodies and the main character was not going to be running in from the boiler room). Lucas, was very active and there was a lovely moment when his Grandma and Charlie knelt to be blessed that he knelt down behind them as well - an awww how cute moment.   Weather, was looking a bit mixed, however we were lucky and after a beautiful service by the lovely vicar, who was also a guest at the wedding, after some shots in the church grounds were moved onto Calverley Golf club.  We got some great shots outside with the usual "Von Trap" shot, which is the Deery Girls special.  The speeches were fantastic, funny and emotional, it was a fun wedding with every body wishing the special couple many happy years together.

Layla & Gavin - No April Fool in Spring Time

On the first of April, Layla announces on FaceBook that she and and long term fiancĂ© Gavin were getting married.  "April Fool" thought most people, but no they had set themselves a task of planning a wedding in less than 3 weeks, so that on the 17th they tied the knot (with special licence) at Barnsley Town Hall with the venue booked at the Park View in Swinton.
I had photographed Layla's mum's wedding a few years earlier, so was happy to be able to photograph Layla's also giving me the opportunity to catch up with her family once again.
I caught up with the Bridal Prep at a local hotel not far from Barnsley, and got some super shots of Layla and her bridesmaids.  Even doing some Boudoir shots as well, which were for Gavin's eyes only. It was a beautiful day and the blossom was out in full, which seemed to be the theme for the day at both the venues, using the trees as a backdrop.  To say that they had a such a short time to prepare, everything went as planned and with the help of the weather, some fun people and some lovely backdrops we got some fantastic shots.

Nicola & Jason - Last Tango at Holdsworth

Holdsworth House is one of my favourite venues, what ever the weather.  So in February I met up with Jason and Nicola, who are located down south, but Nicola having family in Yorkshire at this lovely place and we had all been watching last Tango in Halifax.  Dodging the rain we got some fantastic shots and also some lovely shots of all the hard work that had gone into this special day.  Blue was the colour of the day, with also a theme with candles, butterfly's and lovely flowers.  Nicola looked stunning and we had some great fun during bridal prep.  Both Jason & Nicola were very emotional when it came to their vows and it was a lovely service as usual conducted by the lovely registrars from Halifax.   After managing to get the big group shot in the grounds, the heavens opened and we did all the other shots in the house, after everybody relaxed in the lounge while the couple mingled, this meant I could get some great shots of the guests.  The speeches were great and I found that Jason has a wicked sense of humour, getting everybody laughing.  We managed to do some great shots in the honeymoon suite which is a gorgeous room with excellent lighting and full of romance. Jason and Nicola had a fantastic day, they were very good to work with and everybody loved the Northern hospitality.

Katie & Luke - Valentine Wedding

On Valentines day Luke & Katie were getting married.  It was at Spring Hall in Halifax and between themselves there was only 6 of them, but they were having a party to end all parties in the evening.  The weather was horrendous it just bucketed down continually, so when Katie arrived we dashed inside where Luke was waiting for her.  Katie looked stunning in her simple dress which had a lovely back detail. After the service we took some shots at Spring Hall then the small wedding party went for a celebratory meal.  So I got chance to go home and put my feet up for a while and then it was off to the evening party at The Guide Post near Bradford.  With cakes, sweetie cart and the usual table decorations associated with a good wedding - family and friends started arriving - wanting to congratulate Katie and Luke to have a great party.  We also managed some honeymoon shots, speeches and a first dance as well.  Then a week later in coincidence I was photographing a christening at our local church and the other christening was Luke's niece who was also at the party, so being a small world and I got chance to catch up with Katie & Luke and members of their very small wedding party.

Karen & Andy Grundy - The Venue

Last year I had the pleasure in photographing Andy & Karen's wedding at the Venue, which is a not so little Venue tucked in the Yorkshire countryside.  After photographing Karen getting ready at her lovely home and her custom vintage wedding dress, I caught up with Andy at the Venue which is actually based in an old mill, with a late and water wheel, so there was plenty of spots for great photographs. When the wedding was ready, we nearly thought that Karen was going to be coming in to "The Muppet Show" which got every body in stitches, though the service was rather emotional after that. Speeches with slide shows, football shirts and embarrassing stories.  Also the cake was great fun as well as it depicted all the wedding party, including the parents.  It was a great day and was finished off with the first dance being "The Time Warp" with the grooms man, bridesmaid which was fantastic.
