James Christening - St Peters & Black Horse at Clifton

James is such a lovely and cute chappie, always seems to be very happy and on his christening day he was no different and all the way through he seemed to enjoy himself.  I had photographed his cousin Oliver's christening last year, so it was lovely to be asked to photograph James on his special day as well.  The christening was taking place at the lovely, historic St Peters at Hartshead, though I was not allowed to take photographs during the service I sat and enjoyed the lovely christening with James family.  Afterwards we popped up the road to the Black Horse which was basking in sunshine.  James was loving the attention of all his family and friends, with his dad helping to make him giggle and smile for the photographs.  Also Oliver was looking very smart in his suit showing what a smart little man he was growing into.  It was a lovely afternoon and was great meeting up with the boy's family and friends again.

Cassandra & Michael - Mercure Bradford North Hotel

When I visited Cassandra & Michael last year, as I walked up the stairs I recognised a photograph on the wall, it was of a little bridesmaid who from a wedding I had photographed a couple of years ago.  Several photographs I had taken were on show in the house.  It always makes me proud when I see images I have taken on show.  Anyway the little bridesmaid was Cassandra & Michael's daughter Amy, who will be a flower girl at their wedding next month. Today we met up at the venue in Cottingley, this used known as the Bankfield Hotel and the original part of the hotel is very Gothic looking.  With lovely gardens and features it is a fantastic venue, so we wandered around the gardens and had some fun with lovely shots of both Cassandra & Michael.  Looking forward to catching up with them and Amy on their special day.

Ellen & Gary - Alma Inn at Laneshawbridge

Alma Inn is a lovely venue set in the countryside just outside Colne, with rolling hills and country lanes.  So it was the perfect setting for Ellen & Gary's wedding the other week.  The weather (here I go again) was lovely although it did rain during the wedding breakfast (did that the last time I photographed a wedding there).  Ellen was driven to the Venue in her family friends beautiful vintage rolls royce, the wedding was a lovely civil affair set in the conservatory with the baby grand being played as Ellen came down the aisle, with joy, emotions of tears (mostly mum's) and laughter.  Afterwards photographs were taken overlooking the valley and the hills, using the lane and also the lovely vintage van that is parked up at the Inn.  There were loads of beautiful flowers decorating the tables during the wedding breakfast in which the speeches again were full of fun and emotion.  It was a lovely wedding with a beautiful bride and groom on a beautiful day

Becky & Luke - Holiday Inn - Tong

Hooray, Hooray the sun has shone today.  I think I am becoming a bit too weather processed - ha ha. Becky & Luke were going to have their pre-wedding shoot a couple of weeks ago, but the weather was definitely a no no.  Becky and I have been bosom FB friends since she booked me for her wedding next month, so it was great too eventually meet up with both Becky and Luke today at their venue.  We had some good fun with the shoot, both of them are actually game for some fun on the big day.  So through-ally looking forward to that indeed, it is going to fab and fun, fun, fun hopefully with some sun, sun, sun.

Suzanne & Chris - Weddings & Wellies

What weather we have been having - wet, wet, wet.  However Saturday was a strange mixture of sunshine and showers. Today we were on the farm (one of my favourite venues) at Wedding's & Wellies.  I met Suzanne & Chris last year at the church in Noristhorpe, where they were getting married.  It was one of the strangest client meetings I have ever had, having to sit through a great fun service (all about the Olympics) with children carrying torches and running relays. So our meeting was very brief, though I knew the wedding was going to be very relaxed and so much fun.  Suzanne was getting ready at a beautiful bed and breakfast called the Old Rectory in Mirfield, it is a stunning building with magnificent gardens.  So after Suzanne  was dressed in her beautiful wedding gown - along with her bridal wellies, we managed to get some great shots in garden.  I then met Chris at the church which is at the top of the lane from Weddings & Wellies, the sun was still shinning and then all of a sudden, the wind whipped up and the heaven's opened and gosh, it did come down - so much that we all dashed in doors.  So by the time Suzanne arrived it was a deluge.  The wedding is very emotional and Suzanne was the most nervous bride I have ever seen - but she managed ok. Once the wedding was over the tractor and trailer was waiting outside and it had stopped raining - so we all trekked of down the lane to the Party Marque in the field.  The Marque was decked out with bunting and the setting was for cream tea's with china cups and saucers, a different set for each table - it looked fab.  Guests joined in the fun with many wearing their wellies, some decorated with the wedding date in diamanté.  After the breakfast - Wedding Wanging was played and it was great fun as I got to ride in the little buggy.  With dramatic sky's in the background I set some bails of hay up with my picnic blanket and hamper to get some great shots with a very atmospheric background.  Great wedding, great day and great couple - fun, fun, fun.
